I watched this little blue heron hunt this morning. He's such a different hunter than the hawks and ospreys who dive and crash into the water with the shock and awe of some monster movie villain.
This little blue was like a snake, bobbing and weaving, before striking the water.
The hawks rip apart their prey.
The heron nabs a minnow, throws back his head, and swallows the fish whole. He seems almost graceful in the act.
Although I'm sure to the fish it doesn't matter one way or the other.
