Such Sweetness

The winter days smelled of a damp earth, of fallen leaves and twigs pounded into the mud and left to stew.

Spring (or in Florida, the season not known as winter) brings blooming flowers whose perfumes ride on hot winds.

It brings insects, the pollinators and the foragers, hiding discreetly behind flowers and leaf.

Night and day seasons.

One of silence and gray days and lingering fog and the other of such blindingly sweet light, it's almost impossible to be out in it and not blink and not want to hide your eyes.
