Yesterday when I got home from church, I noticed an ibis hanging out near the water across from the parking lot and I wondered to God how I had never seen an ibis at church. Ibises are everywhere in Florida and yet in two hundred plus days, I had never seen one at Hope.
This morning, at church, as I walked down the path to the water, I saw a flutter of white wings and paused, guessing that I had startled a heron. But when I turned the corner, I didn't see a heron, I saw an ibis. One lonely ibis, waiting for me. I snapped his picture and he flew off, out over the water and out of sight.
Wow, I thought, that was an amazingly easy and quickly answered prayer.
